This is also the brand's first outlet in South Australia. The Bavarian, operated by Rockpool Dining Group, has announced that they opened their 23rd store in Westfield Tea Tree Plaza last October 25. The site’s has menu offerings such as crispy pork knuckle, crackling pork belly, classic German and gourmet sausages, shared platters, and a range of traditional and loaded schnitzels. “Our Bavarian restaurants have a large and loyal following across the country and we’re thrilled to bringing our first, affordable and family-friendly destination to South Australia,” Thomas Pash, CEO of Rockpool Dining Group, said. “We encourage everyone to come along to The Bavarian Tea Tree’s Oktoberfest weekend for a taste of true Bavarian hospitality, great food and entertainment for the whole family.”

RFG appoints Peter George as new chairman
He will replace Stephen Lonie. Retail Food Group has announced that they have appointed Peter George as the new chairman of the group. George was recently appointed to the board of directors last September 25 as non-executive director. He has past experiences as the executive chairman of Nynex Limited and as non-executive director for Asciano Limited and Optus Communications. “The resolution of this dispute is on mutually satisfactory terms and is the culmination of 4 years of very hard work. We now look forward to focusing on engineering and the creation of innovative solutions and technology that give our clients the edge,” George said.

Menulog has announced the winners of their 2018 Winter Restaurant Awards which hails The Island Hut Cafe as Australia’s favourite winter restaurant and Mario Pizza’s having the People’s Choice award. The said cafe’s award was based on the number of orders, ratings and customer satisfaction they received. “The simple and efficient communication with Menulog has been key for us. This has allowed us to share our love of burgers with not only our local community, but also the broader customer base we’ve grown thanks to the site,” The Island Hut Cafe owner Steve Kelleher said. As for the Mario’s Pizza, it is said that they received the most votes from Menulog users. “It is so rewarding to receive support from our local customers and take out the Menulog People’s Choice Award. Since partnering with Menulog, we have been able to grow our network more than we could have ever imagined - 90% of our business comes from Menulog orders,” Mario Franchina, owner of Mario’s Pizza, said. The delivery platform also recognises several more restaurants such as Noodle & Rice Bar and Desire Indian Restaurant as the most popular restaurant in New South Wales and Queensland respectively. They also mentioned the Cheesy burger offering of The Famished Wolf as The Best Cheap Eat and the Spanish Churros of The Schnitzel Kitchen as Best Dessert. “The Menulog Restaurant Awards are designed to recognise and reward the hard work of our restaurant partners, particularly those that have delivered an exceptional customer experience,” Rory Murphy, Menulog’s commercial director, said. “With more than 11,000 restaurant partners now on the website, being crowned as a National Winner is a huge achievement, as is being voted People's Choice from hundreds of nominated restaurants," he added.

The Coffee Club to debut in Vietnam
The coffee chain has plans to open 100 stores in the country for the next five years. The Coffee Club’s operator, Minor Food, has announced that they entered a joint venture agreement with the private equity firm Vietnam Investments Group to bring the coffee chain in Vietnam. This will be Minor’s fourth brand for their portfolio in Vietnam, following the launch of The Pizza Company, Swensen’s and Thai Express. The Coffee Club has 400 outlets across Australia, New Zealand, Maldives, Seychelles, Thailand, Indonesia and United Arab Emirates. “This is a great step forward for The Coffee Club as it makes its first entry into Vietnam. With the flourishing coffee market and favorable macro trend, we are very optimistic about the opportunity to strengthen our presence in the country and grow The Coffee Club brand nationwide,” Paul Kenny, CEO of Minor Food, said. “Together with VI Group’s proven experience and well-established platform in Vietnam, we are confident that we can replicate the same success of The Coffee Club in other markets.”
